Ehjy Brand Story

Growing up in East London with family roots in Kenya and Pakistan, I was always navigating the space between my cultural heritage and the Western culture of the UK. ehjy was born to speak to the “3rd-culture kids” of this generation — to show that it’s OK to live that double life. The brand is rooted in contrast: the respectful rebellion — where tradition meets modern street culture. I want to celebrate this duality without apology. Designing and building the brand in the UAE has also been fundamental to this identity, with elements such as the reversible Dirham coin charm included to acknowledge the place where ehjy was shaped and brought to life.The current collection is a tightly curated, charm-based range, consisting of eight individual charms and one necklace, all designed in-house. All pieces are manufactured in small batches using recycled 18k gold, finished with 1.5-micron thickness of gold plating, and produced with a strong emphasis on ethical practices, weight, and longevity. Each charm is hand-finished with hand-painted neon enamel — a signature ehjy detail — meaning no two pieces are exactly the same, and they are all completed using hand-set CZ stones.The focus is on premium, enduring pieces designed to be statement pieces worn individually or together and collected over time — a way to tell your story and pass it down for generations.
